Gulf 12hr - 2025
Capital RT by Motopark claimed victory in the 15th Gulf 12 Hours at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit, securing Mercedes-AMG’s third win in the event. The race delivered a thrilling spectacle, with frequent lead changes and intense battles among several GT3 contenders over the course of 12 demanding hours.
Denis Remenyako, Michail Aleshin and Adam Christodoulou drove a controlled and consistent race in the #13 Mercedes-AMG GT3, completing 346 laps to take the win. Al Manar by Dragon had led into the ninth hour and appeared on course for a historic first victory for an Omani team, but an unplanned pit stop for brake fluid halted their momentum. Despite this setback, Al Faisal Al Zubair, Ben Tuck and Christopher Froggatt recovered to finish second in the #77 Ferrari 296 GT3.
Mercedes-AMG also secured third place as Grove Racing by GetSpeed completed a double podium. Stephen and Brenton Grove, alongside Jules Gounon, brought their #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 home in third. The pole-sitting #70 Ferrari of Inception Racing was a strong victory contender until contact with an Am-class car forced its retirement in the sixth hour.
In the Pro-Am category, Australian newcomers Geyer Valmont Racing enjoyed a standout debut, winning the class and finishing sixth overall with their #44 Mercedes-AMG GT3. Local outfit Enrico Fulganzi Racing finished second in class with their Porsche 992 GT3 R, while Haas RT claimed third in an Audi R8 GT3 LMS.
The Am class was won by James Vowles, team principal of Atlassian Williams Racing in Formula 1, alongside Anthony West, Marco Pulcini and Mark Sansom in a Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3, which finished tenth overall.
Looking ahead, the next Gulf 12 Hours will be held on 10 January 2027, returning the event to its traditional four-day format and allowing for extended preparation. The usual December slot will instead host a new short-format GT race on 13 December 2026.
