GT World Challenge - Monza - 2026

The GT World Challenge powered by AWS delivered an unforgettable weekend at Monza, attracting more than 43,000 spectators and creating a vibrant carnival-like atmosphere. Fans enjoyed exciting on-track action throughout the event, with Sunday’s three-hour race proving especially dramatic. A major multi-car collision at the start eliminated several leading contenders, including the top five cars on the grid, transforming the race into a strategic battle and creating opportunities for unexpected challengers such as the #23 RJN McLaren and the #87 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG.

The weekend also showcased a variety of remarkable cars beyond the main race field. Among the highlights was the Kimera Evo 37, a modern restomod inspired by the legendary Lancia rally car, while former racing driver Érik Comas delighted fans by driving demonstration laps in his road-legal Nissan R390 GT1. Adding to the spectacle, the Fanfara Alpina Angelo Masciadri performed the Italian national anthem on the grid, continuing a popular annual tradition. Combined with excellent weather conditions, these attractions helped create a memorable experience for spectators.

Ultimately, victory went to the #66 Tresor Attempto Racing team, whose Audi secured an overall win despite fierce competition. The triumph was particularly significant as it came from the team’s Silver Cup entry, driven by the young trio of Rocco Mazzola, Ariel Levi and Sebastian Øgaard, making it a landmark achievement for both the drivers and Audi.

Away from the racing, Monza offered a wide range of entertainment for fans. Visitors could meet drivers during autograph sessions and enjoy the Fan Zone, which featured music, food, drinks and other activities. The event was further enhanced by support races from three prestigious championships: the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli, the GT4 European Series and the McLaren Trophy Europe, ensuring there was action and entertainment throughout the weekend.
