GT World Challenge Eu - Misano - 2025
Misano, not a circuit that is overly popular with photographers, largely due to the huge amount of trackside space that isn’t usable by us for what they deem “safety reasons”. It’s not the easiest to shoot but we make of it what we can.
Race One -
Valentino Rossi and Raffaele Marciello claimed a thrilling victory in the GT World Challenge Sprint Cup race at Misano, continuing Team WRT’s strong form at the circuit. The #46 BMW triumphed after a close battle with the pole-sitting #51 AF Corse Ferrari, giving Rossi his third consecutive win at his home track and Marciello his first series win with BMW. Despite early interruptions from a safety car and full-course yellow, the race resumed with little change at the front, where Rossi had started strongly after his best-ever Sprint Cup qualifying.

Garage 59 secured McLaren’s first GT World Challenge Sprint Cup win since 2016 at Misano, with Marvin Kirchhöfer and Benjamin Goethe delivering a flawless drive in the #59 car, after a tense early battle with the #46 BMW of Marciello and Rossi, winners of Saturday's race. The race was red-flagged at the 15-minute mark due to a fiery crash involving the #1 Lamborghini and the #991 Paradine Competition BMW. After the restart, Goethe held off pressure from Rossi until the #46 BMW was hit with a drive-through penalty for pit lane speeding. In the final laps, Goethe resisted intense pressure from the #48 Mercedes-AMG of Lucas Auer to claim his first series win and a historic McLaren victory.
