24H Series - Paul Ricard 12hr - 2025
This was our second visit to Paul Ricard this year, the first was a few months ago, this time it was hot hot hot. Reaching over 30oC by 09:00 in the morning.
What a rollercoaster of a race! The 12 Hours of Paul Ricard delivered some serious nail-biting moments, and the drama didn’t let up for a second. The final 30 minutes were a chaotic flurry of Code 60 periods, technical issues, and rapid pit decisions that threw everything into flux. Proton Huber Competition really held their nerve, with Wallenwein managing to keep Red Ant Racing’s Kobe de Breucker at bay in the final stages – even with the pressure of a closing gap!
The Red Ant crew’s resilience is impressive, especially after the front-left bodywork issue and a pit lane speeding penalty. They pushed so hard, and while they didn’t quite snag the top spot, second place is no small feat. That final six minutes, with the gap shrinking down to just 3.4 seconds, must have been utterly gripping for anyone watching. You can just feel the intensity through Dreisow’s quote too, where he talks about all the emotions pouring through his body.
And props to Viper Niza Racing for the Spirit of Race award – what a comeback! After a crash that seemed like it would end their weekend, they rebuilt the car, started from the back, and still finished eighth overall with a podium in the GT3 AM class. That’s the definition of grit and determination.
What do you think was the key moment in the race? Was it the tactical decisions in the final laps, or did the earlier incidents and penalties set the stage for that dramatic finish?
