Rolex 24hrs - 2021 - Daytona

This was our first visit the to the famous venue of the Daytona International Speedway and it didn’t disappoint. It was thanks to great work by both the Daytona circuit team and those at IMSA that this event managed to go ahead in the middle of a global pandemic, thank you to all involved.

Racing was close right up until the end and in the final few minutes Albuquerque watched in his Cadillac mirrors while he heard the team’s reaction on the radio as a fast chasing Van Der Zande (finally finishing 5th) was required to enter the pit-lane with a puncture, with less then 8 minutes until the chequered flag. This allowed Albuquerque to sail to victory in the 59th Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway.

In GTLM, Corevette Racing had a great day, coming home with a one two finish, the No3 car finishing just a few seconds ahead of the No4, with BMW coming in third, a lap down on the Corvettes.

Another double finish in the GTD class, this time for Mercedes AMG. The top three cars all finishing on the same lap, The Winward AMG taking the class win ahead of the Sun Energy AMG, Paul Miller Racing coming in third in their Lamborghini Huracan.
