Guest Artist – Coral Rose
Having spent her formative years as a self confessed ‘townie’, the transition to sporting and wildlife artist was not an obvious one for her.
She moved (somewhat reluctantly) to the North Yorkshire countryside four years ago and immediately fell in love. Coral swapped Louboutins for la wellington boot (which her ferrets have become quite taken with too!)
The move coincided with a rekindled interest in art that was borne of intrigue in a new subject matter – the countryside! Where her previous forays into art had been of a more subjective nature, she now find herself increasingly influenced by the beautiful surroundings on the Wykeham Estate in North Yorkshire. Coral doesn’t have to look much further than the window for the inspiration for her next painting!
Coral enjoys working in different mediums; whether that be capturing the iridescent beauty of a cock pheasant plumage in acrylic, the flight of woodcock in watercolour or your own Labrador retriever in pastel!
I went over to visit Coral at her studio, to see where she gets her inspiration and get a few photos. Please read more on my blog post.
