Guest Artist – Charlotte Gibbs.
Charlotte is a 19 year old artist from Beverley, East Yorkshire. Her work is mostly abstract, with the sea being the key subject matter in her paintings. Charlotte’s love of seascapes derives from trips to Hornsea seafront in the winter months:
“when the waves are at their most powerful, I think that is something that should be captured on a canvas. There is something so haunting and unknown about the sea in winter. I feel a painting of these waves can really sometimes show even more energy than a photograph would.”
Using oil paint, Charlotte likes to create these seascapes on both small and large canvases or board, preferring not to constrict herself to a particular size to work on. Having never had work publicly displayed before, Charlotte is very excited to be working in partnership with Lazenby Visuals, and hopes this will continue well into the future.
