24H Series - Estoril 12hr - 2023

Estoril, what a circuit. We have been very lucky to visit some great circuits this year and while Estoril might not be quite at the top with the likes of The Glen, it was certainly a fun one to work at.

In terms of the race, it was an unusual schedule (we unfortunately missed the two test sessions due to a cancelled flight), with one practice session, a regular quali session but that was then followed by a 6 hour race. This determined the grid for the main 12hr race but it was still followed by a mini podium celebration as if it were it’s own race. Then unlike the usual 12hr race format for the series, the race being split in two, the 12hr race ran straight through from 09:00-21:00.

We are currently having some time at home to concentrate on our other two jobs (the gallery and the fire service) but will be heading back to Portugal next week for the next round of the British GT Series at Portimao. This will be our second visit to Portimao, a track we’re looking forward to returning to.
